The article presents the figure of Balthazar Hacquet (1739–1815) — known naturalist, professor of the Lviv university in researches and publications of M. Walio. The article anajyses the history of researches, publications, realized by М. Walio, her bright and interesting way in Ukrainian knowledge about Hacquet, her payment in the process of returning of scientific and publicistic inheritance of B. Hacquet in Ukrainian scientific turnover and in development of slavic philology.
