This article examines, within the still under-researched history of World War II-era periodicals, the mechanism of interaction between Ukrainian publishing institutions and dozens of newspapers, which was aimed at providing good and reliable media content, to be produced outside officially propagated models, and entering into deep contact directly with the readership. The author of the project — Viktor Prykhod’ko — embodied the concept of forming a common informational field for the people of the occupied territories. His texts of a humanitarian and educational nature were to help quickly eliminate the Bolshevik ideological narrative. Prykhod’ko’s personal work, mostly published in the daily newspaper «Krakivs’ki visti» (Kraków news), include reviews of events in Ukraine, critical articles (especially on the role and effectiveness © Головата Л., 2015 405 of the elite in emigration), journal entries, and memoirs. Many of his publications focus on the historical experience of the Tsentral’na rada (Central Council of Ukraine) and Soviet Ukrainization during the 1920s and 1930s, which according to the article’s author, could be useful for Ukrainian society in resolving pressing administrative and humanitarian tasks in wartime.
