The paper is a material that is primarily used for writing, printing and packaging, but also the products derived from it are almost all branches of economy. The paper because of its nature is aging — degradation. The main factor for the stability of the paper is the pH, which differentiates paper, acidic and basic, which is much longer retains its stability does not become brittle. The pH determines the concentration of hydrogen ions in solution. The pH used in acid-base indicators and pH meter. The pH used in acid-base © Bangrowska (Bakalarz) A., 2015 496 indicators and pH meter. In the case of paper is used method of non-destructive method of contact paper here, which involves measuring point by applying electrodes on a lightly moistened paper and then read with pH meter. These studies will determine which books should be de-acidification method. Paper de-acidification is one of the major conservation treatment, which is carried out on a massive scale. In practice de-acidification of the following methods: Method Bueckeburska, Bookkeeper method, Method Neschen, Libertec Method, Method Papersave. Modern chemical technology has promoted hundreds of new auxiliary chemicals to improve the conditions for producing securities or modify its performance. The impact of these measures on the sustainability of paper may be due to: effects on the chemical components of pulp, the interaction of these agents, their decomposition under the influence of external factors and the intensification of the growth of microorganisms.
