The contemporary typological classification models of book publishing products, including current state standard of Ukraine, are analyzed, taking into account the social communication aspects of publishing. The classification models applied by domestic book publishers to the own products are studied. The classification of the Ukrainian book publishing content is used to assess its relevance to the needs of social and state development.
