This article is devoted to creative work of Felicjan Lobesky, an artist from Western Ukraine of the first half of the nineteenth century. It examines the drawings which he performed on the basis of pictorial artistic monuments of previous centuries. The works of art are analysed in the context of multidimensional program of study of spiritual and material culture of the people. Individual artist’s contribution to the solution of pressing problems of the time were outlined.
