Abstract

We analyze Ivan Franko’s obituaries in Galician and Bukovynian press, as well as in the emigration periodicals and the press of war camps, in the year of 1916. The study is done in the context of the contemporary political situation, the dominant problems and the role of the social factor are outlined as well.
